Another UK post today. This one is on Mystery Jets, an english band from Eel Pie Island in London (only 120 people live on the island!). Now that you have you’re geography straight, let me explain to you why these guys are in position to take over the Brit-Pop scene. First of all, they are bringing back the classic sounds of the Cure, the Beatles, and the Kinks, but in an updated fashion. Second, they’ve got Erol Alkan working on their albums, which is kind of a big deal. Mystery Jets are soo fun. Their lyrics are all about love and women, exactly like the Beatles in their early years! They’re already huge in the UK, but haven’t really broken out in the U.S, but they have a lot of potential as a band, and you should not pass them up. Here are a couple fun ones below.
